About this Painting

I have been lucky this year to have been invited to paint at the stunning gardens at East Ruston Old Vicarage in North Norfolk.

The gardens offer so many opportunities for an artist to paint, I’m really spoilt for choice. Poppies are a favourite of mine and I couldn’t resist the raspberry colours and full buds of this variety. An intuitive painting, the composition was loosely inspired by a reference photograph.

This painting has proved to be popular amongst visitors, a lovely reminder of time spent at the gardens.
